Rainy Monday

It is raining cats and dogs in my part of the world. It is also cold and nothing beats sitting by a roaring fire keeping warm while I try to come up with names for my home.Names like Soleil,Mon chateau, Mon Reve, Le paradis which means My Sun,My Castle,My dream and The Paradise kept coming in my mind. But finally I decided on the name La vie en rose which means Life in roses. The reason for this choice was one because it is positive, and two it sounds like a happy note to come home to and also my front porch is filled with roses. Last but not least it La Vie en rose was the signature song of French singer Édith Piaf, written in 1945. All the signs points to this nam being the most suited to the house. Now how to make this name plaque happen? Well, I found this website and I have emailed them http://www.mypaintedporch.com/. They specialise in custom made French Vintage signs. Cross fingers!!

Bon Dimanche -View from my backyard

Happy Sunday.I woke up to this view this morning.Thought I'd share on my blog,it is quite inspiring,it actually made me remember that I need to focus on the provincial look. So, my next step is to choose a name for our home and organise for someone to put it on a plaque so I can hang it on the wall on my front porch.Finding someone to do that plaque is proving harder than I thought. More photos of the view from our kitchen.

The Story Begins...

Once upon a time a young girl had a dream of living in a beautiful home with her family. She believes that home is where the heart is and that she will only be happy once this dream has been fulfilled.
This is my true story and I am pinching myself that my dream is now a reality, we are now the proud owners of this majestic beautiful house that has a country feel to it. The house has amazing views and is gorgeous, however it seems to lack soul, warmth that I believe can only be fixed by some french inspired decoration. My aim is to use online resources, friends help and to shop around in markets for some vintage "je ne sais quoi" and give our beautiful house the warmth that it is missing. The first thing that we have changed to the house is the entrance door, I have posted two pictures of before and after shot of my door. The new door reflects more of that french-inspired look, I still have to add a few more things to my front porch to accentuate the french look that I so long desire but all will come in due time.Thanking you in advance for your motivation to keep me on track.
